Fair Usage Policy

Issued 5 November 2026 · Version 3 · EXPRESS-FUP-2026-11-05-v3

Express is shared, asymmetrical broadband: download and upload speeds differ. Fair-use controls help customers share network capacity. This schedule sets out the temporary speed limits for the plan selected in your accepted service order.

Your daily usage and speeds

We add together the data downloaded and uploaded on your connection during that day’s FUP window, across all connected devices. The total is measured in GB. The normal plan speed applies until usage exceeds the first threshold.

All speeds are up to, in Mbps: download / upload.Swipe sideways to see both reductions →
Plan & normal speedFirst reduction · 50%Second reduction · 75%
Home 4040 / 20 MbpsAbove 20 GB, up to and including 30 GB20 / 10 MbpsAbove 30 GB10 / 5 Mbps
Home 100100 / 50 MbpsAbove 30 GB, up to and including 40 GB50 / 25 MbpsAbove 40 GB25 / 12.5 Mbps
Business 5050 / 25 MbpsAbove 30 GB, up to and including 40 GB25 / 12.5 MbpsAbove 40 GB12.5 / 6.25 Mbps
Business 100100 / 50 MbpsAbove 50 GB, up to and including 60 GB50 / 25 MbpsAbove 60 GB25 / 12.5 Mbps

A reduction starts only after the stated threshold is exceeded. The second tier replaces the first and is 75% below the normal speed; it is not a further 75% reduction. Both download and upload speeds reduce in the same proportion.

When FUP applies

Monday–Friday6 AM–6 PM EAT
Saturday6 AM–2 PM EAT
SundayNo FUP

Temporary FUP limits end at 6:00 PM Monday–Friday and 2:00 PM Saturday. Outside those windows, these FUP speed reductions do not apply. Each new FUP day starts counting from zero at 6:00 AM; usage outside the window is not carried into the next day’s FUP total.

Evening boost: Home plans only

Home 40 and Home 100 are the only plans with the free evening boost. From 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM EAT daily, the boost doubles download speed only. Home 40 offers up to 80 Mbps download and up to 20 Mbps upload during these hours. Home 100 offers up to 200 Mbps download and up to 50 Mbps upload. On Saturdays the FUP ends at 2:00 PM and the boost starts at 6:00 PM.

Business traffic priority runs from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The evening boost and traffic priority do not make the connection dedicated or guarantee a particular Wi-Fi result.

What reaching a threshold means

Only the temporary speed change shown for your plan applies under this FUP. Crossing a threshold does not itself create an extra usage charge, cancel your connection or automatically upgrade your package. Normal lawful heavy usage is not, by itself, a breach of the Acceptable Use Policy.

This schedule forms part of your agreement when provided and accepted with your service order. Previously agreed rules are not replaced retrospectively by a website update. Your statutory rights and agreed service remedies remain available.

Changes to your service terms

Express may update the Fair Usage Policy or other terms of your service agreement when needed. We will notify you at least 30 calendar days before any change takes effect. The notice will explain what is changing and give the effective date. We will explain your options and obtain your agreement where required.

Understanding your usage

Live Bandwidth Usage in your customer portal shows current traffic on the selected connection; further detail is available under Statistics. The live graph is not automatically the accumulated GB total used for an FUP trigger.
